Tour of Champions

The Tour of Champions is a summer-long circuit of premier Indian Relay races held across the United States and Canada. The Tour showcases the finest teams and horses in the sport, culminating in the Championship of Champions—the nation’s most prestigious Indian Relay event. Each season, the Tour of Champions brings together Native Nations, fans, and communities in a shared celebration of heritage and competition.

Event Impact Overview
With more than 103 elite teams representing over 25 Tribal Nations, the races attract participants and fans from across the U.S. and Canada, generating measurable tourism impacts through lodging, dining, and local business activity. Beyond the economic influence, HNIRC events strengthen community ties, elevate Native heritage, and provide a positive, family- oriented atmosphere that celebrates unity and tradition.

Why Accredit Your Race?

Accrediting your race with the Horse Nations Indian Relay Council (HNIRC) provides an opportunity to enhance visibility, attract more participants, and promote the rich tradition of Indian Relay Racing on a broader scale. Here’s why you should accredit your race:

1. Massive Publicity and Reach

• Website Traffic: Since January 1, 2025, the HNIRC website has attracted 87,000 unique visitors, generating 145,312 page visits, 7.2 million hits, and 1.28 million total pages viewed.

• Media Partnerships: Extensive coverage through tribal media, local news outlets, and event collaborations amplifies HNIRC’s storytelling and sponsor visibility.

• Event Calendar Inclusion: Your accredited race will be added to the official HNIRC race schedule, reaching more teams and fans.

2. Elevating Your Winning Team

• Paid Entry into the Championship of Champions:

• Champion Recognition: Your winning team will receive special recognition, including a spot on Champion Row at the Championship of Champions and a feature in the commemorative event program.

3. Be Part of a Prestigious Network

• Accredited races are part of the HNIRC Tour of Champions, a national and international network of relay races that culminates in the year-end Championship of Champions.

4. Women's Indian Relay Team

• Accrediting your Women’s Indian Relay team provides the same exciting opportunity to participate at the Championship of Champions, including a paid entry for the winning women’s team and their inclusion on Champion Row. Promote the growing tradition of women's relay racing on a grand stage!
